Bible give Away

Stan came to pick up the old fridge yesterday. It was too heavy for the two of us to handle. He loaded the fridge doors and an old washing machine. When he was ready to go I gave him a The LifeLight New Testament. When he came back today to pick up the fridge, he brought his wife with him. They were so enthusiastic about that Bible I had given them! The missus told me she and her son were reading it and following the suggested daily reading plan. She told me she has 6 children. I asked her if she wanted another copy for her son. She said yes. I had 4 more copies in the house, so I gave her all of them. She was EVER so grateful!

When The Two Amigos fridge delivery people were done delivery of our new fridge, I offered them each a gift of Find God New Testament. They accepted them gladly.

The lesson of the day? Have more scriptures available. God will provide the distribution opportunities!

LifeLight News Release

Canadian LifeLight Ministries is pleased to announce staff and board changes to bring the ministry back to its constituted focus of reaching out to all of Canada.  That includes a desire and a plan to set up chapters all over Canada, similar to the very successful Manitoba chapter that was led in the last number of years by Ryan Rempel.  May God bless him in the Equip ministry he's been called to!

We are pleased to announce that the First Nations LifeLight Scripture is coming closer to reality.  We plan to print 50,000 copies for distribution to the 500 First Nations Communities in Canada.  Your assistance is much appreciated.  We still need to finalize a name for it. The Creator's LifeLight?

We are pleased to announce the appointment of 1st rate staff:
Robert Wiebe, Robert@TheLifeLight.com formerly of CHVN, is excited to take over the role of Manitoba Chapter Coordinator, to find volunteers to staff the Steinbach warehouse, and to find like-minded individuals to establish chapters in all the major areas of Manitoba. If you are in Manitoba, you should expect to hear from him soon.

Roxanne Fuchs Roxanne@TheLifeLight.com is excited to take on the job of running the Winnipeg Office at 1695 Henderson, reaching out to all donors and creating the email Newsletter project.

Donna Kovacks Donna@TheLifeLight.com has started in role as Southern Ontario Chapter coordinator.

Mark Fowke Mark@TheLifeLight.com has taken on Chapter responsibilities in the Ottawa area.

LifeLight Ministries is blessed to have Donna Kovacs join the team in Ontario.  She set up and worked in the booth, meeting people from various ministries to make ministry Scriptures available the
ministries serving the Lord in Ontario.

Donna is excited to be part of the LifeLight goal of reaching every First Nations Community in Canada in the next 2 years.  She will be calling on churches and Christian businesses to help raise the required funds for this.

SAVED!!!

Last Wednesday I spoke at a church banquet here in Winnipeg and challenged a group of about 80 people to give away a Bible before the end of the week. We had a great response with many people committing to give a Bible away for the first time. This morning, one of the ladies from that church stopped by to share a story with Marge and I. She told me that my message and challenge had really encouraged her to be bold in her faith and to share her faith with a family that she new needed the Lord.......what happened next is an amazing example of what God can do when we act on the prompting of the Holy Spirit. The family she connected with was an immigrant family from the Philippines. She has gotten to know them over the past couple of years but hadn't really talked in depth about her faith. She went to their place with a Bible for each family member and started talking about Christ and what He has done for her life and what He can do for their lives as well. By the end of the evening, the entire family was led to the Lord and they all had their own Bibles to grow in their faith. They will also be coming to church as well. AMAZING!!!!!!! I don't always get to hear the outcomes of my presentations, so it was so cool to hear this story first thing this morning. Made my week!!

Trip North

We had planned to leave earlier that day but we chose to heed the storm warnings . At 9:00 am they advised against traveling on #6. By 10:00 am that restriction had been lifted and so I phoned Bill in Steinbach and he was in Wpg by 11:00 am and we began our journey north.
We arrived in Thompson at 10:00 p.m.. The roads were snow covered except the last 100 km south of Thompson. Our travels took us as far as Lynn Lake, Gillam and Norway House.
We traveled 4100 km and distributed 2500 NTs. Many were praying and God opened doors and gave us favour.
Thanks to those who prayed and we need to continue to pray that God will motivate and direct that the Word of God will get into the right hands and be read and bear fruit.

Thanks to all of you who came out on Sunday night for our LifeLight banquet. We've had so much good feedback of how people really enjoyed the entire night. It was truly a successful evening.

I have a meeting on Wednesday with somebody willing to give their testimony for the native Bible. He is an amazing singer/songwriter that has won various awards including an aboriginal music award. The process for the native Bible is slow but steady. Lots of work is going into this but we know God has a plan for this Bible and so we are happy to work at His pace as He provides more testimonies and insight.

George is a striker for Hell's angels.
Loving your enemies they say is crazy. I  entrust them with a Bible. They read it. That Bible is an amazing book. If you abide in Jesus word you will have life.
Thank you for your support. The Bible was a clear message from God to 3 prisoners when they started to read it together.
1st nations ministry is a big part of LifeLight for many years. LifeLight is in the process of preparing a 1st nation's Bible. Getting lots of good feedback. Fresh IE got involved and is really excited about this new Bible.

Barb will share. 1996 she applied to work up north. Her 1st trip was to Split Lake where a woman wanted her to bring God. Soon she started giving LifeLight scriptures and lives were changed.
Gave away 100s of Bibles over the years. The Bible is the most influential book in history. It changes people.

Perimeter Air flies Bibles north at no cost. A big thanks to them.

Christian camps reach kids for Jesus. We donated 7,000 Bibles to campers this year. 7,000 homes have been impacted.

Shane Reimer has been working at Fisher Bay Bible Camp. An 8 year old got a Bible last year. He was concerned about his family. He came back to camp this year. He had been reading his The LifeLight Bible every day.
My camp is a low budget camp and we are very thankful for free LifeLight scriptures.

One camp director asked for 1,000 Bibles and he burst into tears of thankfulness when he got them.

Each ministry here is going home with a box of Scriptures.

Obituary

PETER LOEWEN (published on October 06, 2011)  PETER LOEWEN The afternoon of October 3, 2011, Peter Loewen slipped peacefully into the waiting arms of his Lord. He passed away in the Palliative Care Ward at the Riverview Health Centre. He was 86. Peter is survived by his loving wife, Caroline, of Winnipeg, MB, as well as their children and grandchildren, Rita and husband Wendell Kroeker, Matthew (Kirsten, Haley and Annika), Dalen (Bonnie), Tyson (Diane, Karen and Aurelia), and Amy; Sylvia and son, Ben; Ralph and wife Cindy, Pavel, Arthur and Marissa; Lyle and wife Paula, Brenlee (Joash), Kara (Tim), and Jordan; Stewart and wife Heather, Dawson and Jenna; Greg and wife Cathie, Mackenzie, Kaelee and Aaron. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Isaac and Elizabeth, brothers Leonard (in childhood) and George, and sister Mary Friesen. He grew up in Giroux and quit school at 14 to help on the family farm. After their marriage on May 1, 1954, Peter and Caroline moved to the Interlake, north of Riverton. They farmed and spent winters in the bush running a sawmill. In 1962, Peter bought his first mobile feed mill and in 1969 he built Scientific Feed in Arborg. In later years, he spent many days helping his sons and son-in-law on their farming operations. Five years ago Dad and Mom moved to Winnipeg, where they became members of the Braeside E.M.C. Church. Dad was honoured to have been asked to serve on the mission's committee. Dad loved people. Some of his happiest days were spent driving his motorboat and teaching numerous people how to water-ski. He loved meeting new people. He and Mom did a lot of traveling - to Israel, Europe, South America, Caribbean and cruising. Their latest trip was to a granddaughter's wedding in Mexico this past January. Dad's greatest joy came from giving away Scriptures. In recent years, he went on many trips north to distribute LifeLight New Testaments. Dad wanted everyone to know the Lord. He spent hours praying and has witnessed many a changed life. Dad also loved to share stories of his Scripture distribution trips. The viewing is at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach on Thursday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m. The memorial service will be held on Friday, October 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Braeside Evangelical Mennonite Church in Winnipeg - 1011 Munroe Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian LifeLight Ministries Inc. You might be ready...but what about everyone else

I'm not all about talking about end times and preaching that the end is near and all that stuff, But this video did make me think.

I am realizing more and more that we don't have an endless amount of time to reach our friends, family, neighbors and strangers for Christ. There will in fact come a time where God simply says "enough is enough" and Christ WILL come back.

As I sit in my office typing out this message, I'm looking around me and what I see is about 1000 Bibles sitting in Boxes. Thats not to mention all the Bibles that are sitting in our warehouse. They are sitting here because we are waiting for people like you to come and pick them up and give them away.

What would it look like if we ALL gave one away? If every Christian in Cananda or even just Winnipeg for that matter, said " This week I am am committing myself to giving a Bible away", we would have ZERO Bibles left. What an amazing thing that would be. Sharing our faith is not only acting out of obedience to God, Its also the strongest act of love you can give someone. Its stepping out of your personal comfort zone and sharing salvation with another human being, another child of God.

We give away tens of thousands of Bibles to ministries, communities, prisons, etc every year. But what about you? Have you ever given one away personaly? I want to encourage you come down to our office in Winnipeg, Steinbach or Simcoe Ontario and pick up some Bibles and give them away. It may just lead to a conversation that will be life changing for you and the person receiving the Bible. You will realize how easy it really is to share the one thing that is most important to you. Dessert Evening

I'll start off by saying "what a great evening LifeLight had last
night!!" Our Steinbach Dessert Night was a huge success. Rox did a great
job helping to organize this event. It is so much work to make it happen
as people need to be contacted on a regular basis to make sure they are
coming. We were able to raise $5,700.00 last night!!! It will end up
being a little more as some of our donors took the envelopes home to
pray about it. We had many new faces last night - very encouraging. 100
people showed up. Also, half the evening's costs were covered by one of
our donors. Praise God!!!
Our next main effort will be the Golf Tournament - any of you who have
contacts that can support or sponsor part of this event would be much
appreciated. Just let us know how many golf brochure you need and we'll
make it happen.
